Property Description
The International Budget hostel is in the centre of Amsterdam close to all major tourist attractions, museums, Leidseplein and the busy nightlife area. The location of the hostel is on a quiet, beautiful canal - the Leidsegracht.
The hostel has a cosy lounge facing the canal where one can relax and socialize and meet other fellow travallers. Breakfast is not included in the room price but is available in the lounge between 9am and 12noon. The lounge has vending machines, a television, an internet station and a public phone. WIFI also available.
Rooms are shared mixed quads with 4 single box spring beds. There is 1 padlock accepting locker per bed which is big enough for 2 backpacks. Each hallway has showers and wc's.
The entire hostel have smoke detectors.
Due to the new non-smoking law which is introduced since July 1st 2008, smoking will not be permitted in the entire hostel.
There is video security in all public areas.
Reception hours are from 9am until 11pm but the hostel has no curfew. So, please contact reception the day before your arrival date if you are arriving after 11pm.
We do not accept stag groups and children who are younger than 5 years old.
All credit cards incur a 5% surcharge
CANCELLATIONS: are required to be faxed or sent by email to the International Budget Hostel 24 hours prior to arrival date. Failure to do so will result in a one night no show fee which will be charged to the given credit card number. Cancellation on arrival will result in full payment for the first night and 50% for the remaining nights accomodation. Prepaid cancellations made during stay subject to 100% charge.
WEEKEND RESERVATIONS
We have a minimum stay of 2 nights over the weekends (Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday). Weekend reservations are subject to a TWO NIGHT cancellation fee should the 24 hours notice not be observed.
Booking conditions Holidays:
All cancellations are required to be faxed or e-mailed to the International Budget Hostel 1 week prior to arrival date. Failure to do so will result in a 50% fee, which will be charged to the given credit card. Cancellation upon arrival will result in full payment.
Upon arrival, payment for accommodation is to be made in advance.
All reservations will be held until 23.00 p.m. unless arranged differently with reception.
The reservation will be terminated if the hostel does not get authorisation on the credit card.
In order to obtain an authorization we require the cvc(security code) from the given creditcard.
Once you have reserved through Hostel World, the hostel will email you for these details

The booking fee and the 10% deposit is charged by Hostel World and it is not refundable.

louish4ge8330 stayed here on 09th August 2010 The hostel was very well situated but that is the only good thing of it. It was very noisy and the staff was dull (some objects were stolen from our suitcases) On every wall you have signs telling you not to smoke or else you will have a penalty of 50 euro and they only come to your room to inspect traces of smoking instead of doing your beds and cleaning the room. Plus, if you pay by credit card you are charged 5 pourcent of the amount of your stay, which is not told on the website. DONT GO! Read Owner Comments |

Geckowi stayed here on 05th August 2010 Excellent location in a quiet area of the Jordaan, but only around the corner from a tram stop - not that you need trams as everything is within walking distance.
The 4-bed dorm beds are very comfortable and there are lockers big enough for your backpack (bring your own padlock).
The only negative I can think of is the lack of water pressure - I think the only reason the water actually makes it out of the taps / shower head is gravity.
I bottom line is, I would definitely stay there again. |

palmtree224909 stayed here on 26th July 2010 I had a great time at this hostel, but in saying that it is not a particulary social hostel... It is in a great location though, very quiet but still close to everything, and the staff are helpful and friendly. |

arturesteve stayed here on 25th July 2010 The place was great, really nice. Staff was amazing, really friendly and helpful. They have huge lockers in the rooms, I could even put my suitcase in there. The beds are extremely comfortable. The location is wonderful, not a loooong walk from the main station if you don't mind walking for a while but also extremely close to a tram stop that takes you there. Only problem, bathrooms don't have any ventilation, so taking a warm shower makes everything humid and messy very fast. |

Lots of stairs to climb, seriously would not want to do it with a backpack on. Good staff and nice location helped. Be warned: 5% extra for credit card payments is really annoying.
